While Michael Salazar pretended he was sleeping, Sandra Bay Mayor J Smith met his brother for breakfast after miles on his treadmill.

While Kaitlynn Steinbaum oscillated between fuming at Michael for being non-communicative and softening into genuine concern, Mayor J Smith and his brother detailed plans for a brighter opportunistic future.

Michael was forced from his bed to answer Nature. Mayor J Smith’s brother Tommy left breakfast and set their plans into motion.

Kaitlynn resented her growing feelings of uneasiness, and she lashed at Michael. Tommy set up 2 blocks from Ruby Millner’s condo and returned to Michael’s hotel.

Michael and Kaitlynn realize they are too hungry to fight, and finding food unites them temporarily. Tommy keeps them company 5 tables away.

Michael orders another coffee. “I have to meet with the police chief.”

Kaitlynn stares at him.

“Do you want to come?” he asks her.

“You couldn’t stop her if you wanted to,” Tommy snorted to himself.

“I want to know, what the hell is going on,” Kaitlynn answers. She struggles harder than Tommy to accept this account from Michael.
